As a first step, we need pictures of your head area.

Most important is a picture of your neck area / the back of your head. The surgeon can use this picture to determine whether your donor site is sufficient for the entire problem area. As soon as you have sent us your pictures, we forward them to the surgeon. Within a very short time, we will receive a brief description of the required grafts and further information about the condition of your hair.

After you receive the detailed cost calculation and decide on the treatment, we will send possible travel arrangements and a patient registration form. In this way, you give us your consent to organize the trip. You conclude the treatment contract directly at the clinic in Istanbul. In order to be able to offer you travel recommendations, we need your desired travel period as well as your desired departure airport.

The extraction technique is one of the most important and decisive criteria of a hair transplantation: To achieve a high growth rate, the quality of the hair roots is much more important than extracting as many grafts as possible.

Although the FUT (follicular unit transplantation) method is still offered, it is outdated and has not been performed in our partner clinic in Istanbul for more than eight years. During this procedure, which takes about three to four hours, a narrow strip of hair is extracted. The transplantation method leaves a long scar on the back of the head.

Micromotor:
With the FUE (follicular unit excision) method, the hair is first shortened to two to four millimeters. The hair roots are then extracted manually or by a micromotor with a titanium tip that leaves only very small scars. The treatment takes between five and nine hours, depending on the complexity.

Manually:
With this method, it is not possible to extract more than 1000 grafts (per session). As a result, the procedure takes a long time and requires a large hair transplantation team. With this method, you may need to prolong your stay for 4 to 5 days.

FUE GOLD:
The FUE GOLD method is the supreme discipline of the extraction technique and is the preferred method in our partner clinic in Istanbul. The hair roots are removed with a golden hollow needle after the hair has been shortened to about two to four millimeters. After the surgery, which takes about five to nine hours, hardly any scars are visible due to the extremely fine hollow needle.

As with the extraction, there are also differences in the implantation of the grafts. When implanting, the individual methods differ in the instruments selected (hair pen, tweezers, robot), the material used (gold, diamond, steel, etc.), the storage of the hair follicles and the choice of technique (channel opening or injection).

The implantation method can be carried out in two or three steps: with or without canal opening, and with or without intermediate storage of the hair follicles.

The DHI method (Direct Hair Implantation), also called Choi or pen method, is based on implanting the extracted grafts with a pen. For this, the follicle is stuffed into a fine pen and implanted directly into the scalp. This procedure increases the risk of damaging the follicle and preventing it from growing later. In addition, the doctor cannot influence the later growth direction of the hair with this method.

Our partner clinic employs a manual approach. Although it is more elaborate and complex, it guarantees impressive and consistent results. With this method, a very fine channel in the scalp is first opened for the implantation of each follicle. The insertions for these canals are made either with a titanium blade or, in our clinic, even with a sapphire blade. Sapphire is even finer and completely anti-allergenic. Through the channel, the surgeon can determine and control the later growth direction of the hair. The manual method requires an extremely high level of experience and many years of routine, which our teams in the partner clinic can impressively demonstrate.

In our partner clinic, all techniques are performed by specially trained doctors. Each doctor has specialized in the specific challenges of hair transplantation. During the preliminary examination on site, the procedures are discussed in detail. It is then decided which method guarantees the optimal result.

If you wish, our partner doctors can also extract and transplant more than 4500 grafts. That’s not the issue, they can even extract all grafts from your donor site. The issue is, however, that if you have more than 4500 grafts implanted, the risk increases that the blood circulation in your head will not be sufficient to supply the grafts with enough blood and nutrients. This is why it often happens that a large part of the implanted grafts won’t grow. You are welcome to discuss the number of grafts to be implanted with the surgeons on site following a detailed computer analysis!

In a beard transplantation, the hair extracted from your donor site – provided it is strong enough – is transplanted to bald spots in the beard area. They are most similar to the original beard hairs. The transplanted hair is inserted in such a way that it is perfectly aligned and can no longer be distinguished from natural beard hair. After approx. 12 weeks, the new beard hair begins to grow from the transplanted hair roots.

Eyebrow hair that does not grow back can be replaced by a transplant. Like a hair transplantation, an eyebrow transplantation is performed by transplanting hair roots taken from the neck area. As needed, up to 400-500 grafts can be extracted and implanted in the affected area. The transplantation is carried out under local anaesthesia. The patient does not feel any pain after the treatment. During the transplantation, the anatomical structure and the growth direction of the eyebrows are taken into account.

In order to delay your hair loss or stimulate your freshly implanted grafts, we have integrated alternative treatment methods into our treatment packages. After the preliminary examination, every hair transplantation patient receives individually tailored mesotherapy.

With mesotherapy, active ingredients (such as vitamins, essential nutrients, homeopathic substances or, for example, hyaluronic acid) individually tailored to the patient are injected into the scalp with the finest needles. This ensures that the active ingredients reach precisely the areas of the hair follicles where they are needed. Mesotherapy optimizes blood circulation in the scalp, reduces hair loss, improves hair quality and ensures hair regrowth.

PRP therapy is a simple, non-surgical procedure that promises a gentle, well-tolerated and effective result. A small amount of blood is taken from the patient, centrifuged and filtered to obtain concentrated, enriched plasma. The physician then injects the PRP serum into the scalp. Blood platelets, growth factors and proteins are released, and hair and stem cells are activated.

The plasma stimulates tissue, increases blood flow and oxygen supply to the scalp and the hair roots are better supplied with nutrients. The growth factors reactivate the hair follicles and stimulate their regeneration. Hair loss is stopped. The existing hair grows more densely and stronger. Even new hair growth (formation of new hair follicles) can be stimulated.

Please proceed immediately to the agreed meeting point after passport control and receiving your luggage. Our transfer service will be waiting for you there. On arrival in Istanbul, you will receive a telephone call from our local staff member, informing you when you will be expected or picked up for the preliminary examination or interview.

After landing in Istanbul, you will be picked up at the airport by our transfer service and driven to the hotel. The rest of the day, you will have free time for a possible sightseeing of the city.

The following day, the examinations start in the clinic: welcoming, blood drawing for the laboratory, followed by the preliminary examination, computerized hair analysis, and consultation with the doctor. The problem area is measured with the latest computer technology and planned precisely. The entire preliminary examination will be discussed with you in detail and documented with records and pictures! Your English speaking assistant is always present during this consultation! (Tip: Please write down your questions in advance so that you don't forget anything in all the excitement. Please take your time for this consultation and ask all questions before your surgery!)

Payment is only carried out now, after the preliminary examination: in euro currency in cash, or by EC or credit card – no prepayment! Please consider your daily limit for EC-cards as well as a foreign card surcharge/fees of € 50 when paying by card. We therefore recommend paying in cash in the clinic. There are no further costs or issues with the daily rate. During the operation: Your English speaking assistant is always in the clinic until 20:00. During the operation, the specialist care is with you. If you wish, they will ask you after the extraction of the grafts, whether you want to look at your grafts or count them. These are checked in the same room and placed in Petri dishes filled with a nutrient solution so that a death of the grafts does not occur. Please note that for hygienic reasons a certain distance to the grafts or Petri dishes should be maintained and the grafts should not be touched. Please follow the instructions of the laboratory staff. Since you may have received a strong sedative, we ask for your understanding if you react strongly to this sedative and cannot comprehend that you may now count the grafts.

The following day after the surgery: follow-up examination and consultation with the plastic surgeon. You will receive your English invoice and your care kit, as well as headgear to protect you from sunlight. After the follow-up examination (in the morning), you will be taken back to your hotel. You will then have free time and, if you wish, you can get to know the metropolis of Istanbul, for example!

Return journey:
Before our transfer to the airport: free time until we pick you up.
12:00 noon: check-out at the hotel – you may leave your luggage at the hotel reception, if you wish.
3-4 hours before departure: You will be picked up at the hotel and taken to the airport by the transfer service.
